இந்தியாவில் 1.4 கோடி பேர் கொத்தடிமைகள்! உலக கொத்தடிமைகளில் 50% இந்தியாவிலேயே!
அடிமை முறைக்கு எதிரான அவுஸ்திரேலிய அமைப்பான, வாக் ப்ரீ பவுண்டேஷன் உலக அளவில் சுமார் மூன்று கோடி பேர் இன்னும் கொத்தடிமைகளாக வாழ்கிறார்கள் என்று கூறுகிறது.
இந்தியாவில் மட்டும் 1.4 கோடி பேர் அடிமை நிலைகளிலும், கடனை அடைப்பதற்காக கொத்தடிமைகளாகவும், கட்டாயமாக வேலை செய்யும் நிலையில் சிக்குண்டும் இருக்கிறார்கள். இது உலக கொத்தடிமைகளில் சுமார் 50% என்று உலக அடிமைகள் பட்டியில் 2013 என்ற இந்த அறிக்கை கூறுகிறது.
இந்தப் பிரச்சினை மிகவும் அதிகமாக நிலவும் மொரிடேனியா நாட்டின் மொத்த ஜனத் தொகையில் நான்கு சதவீதத்தினர் அடிமைகளாகவே வாழ்கின்றனர் என்றும் இந்த அறிக்கை கூறுகிறது.
அடிமை முறையை ஒழிக்க அரசுகள் எடுக்கும் நடவடிக்கைகள் நாட்டுக்கு நாடு வேறுபடுவதாக அது கூறுகிறது.
