இந்நிலையில் ஓமந்தையிலிருந்து யாழ்ப்பாணத்திற்கான ரயில் பாதை அமைக்கும் பணிகள் துரித கதியில் இடம்பெறுவதாக அமைச்சர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். அத்துடன் யாழ் தேவி புகையிரத சேவையை அடுத்த வருடம் முற்பகுதியில் ஆரம்பிக்க திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதற்கான பூர்வாங்க வேலைகள் ஏற்கனவே முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் அமைச்சர் சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளார்.
மேலும் வடக்கிற்கான புகையிரத சேவைக்கு ஜனாதிபதி முக்கியத்தும் வழங்கி செயற்படுவதாகவும் கிளிநொச்சி, முல்லைத்தீவு மற்றும் யாழ்ப்பாணத்திற்கான புகையிரத பாதைகள் சீரமைக்கப்பட்டு வருவதுடன், குறித்த பணிகள் பெருமளவு நிறைவடைந்துள்ளதாகவும் போக்குவரத்து அமைச்சர் குமார வெல்கம மேலும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
We thank you for your efforts,KKS Colombo train services including speedy train services and shuttle services are very very important,but such a long delay is worrying the the entire commuters,because there are commuters travel daily upto Vavuniya in order to carry out their jobs a commuter belt is needed.Bus services,private bus services are greater inmconvenience to the commuters,as they suffer a lot.

If the government really wish to keep sri lanka one country, it should tie all the islans with railways and highways to enable the people meet each other, move with each other and to build up harmony between Tamils in the north and east with sinhalese in the south, forgetting and forgiving all unfortunate happenings of the past. Let us build up a new Sri Lanka as one country with equal rights to all four religions, three races and two languages.
